The Hall is proud to play host to approximately 30 cyclists for the night, all of whom are cycling some 250 miles from London to Paris in order to generate increased awareness of the potential dangers of  climate change.

Come along and hear their stories and find out why the COP21 conference in Paris is so important for the future of our planet. Listen to Martyn Eccleston, a 74 year old enthusiast cycling all the way from Scotland, who will be giving a 15 min talk about why he’s doing the ride.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS AT THE HALL

19:00  – Members of the public and Hall volunteers to be at the Hall ready to welcome the cyclists

19:15 – The 30 cyclists to arrive from the Brighthelm along with members of the CAN Reception group.

19:30 – A key member of the cyclists group, having set off from Scotland, will give a brief personal address about his reasons for undertaking the ride to Paris. This will be followed by  a form of Q&A involving the audience, and an opportunity for people to write their own personal messages on a white board to be photographed and to be part of the representations in Paris. This will also emphasise that following the terrorist atrocities in Paris on the 11 November this ride has taken on a wider significance that links climate change to the causes of the current de-stabilised situation across the Middle East.

21:00 – The cyclists leave the Hall and either ride to a local swimming pool to use the facilities for showers etc. or will have been invited to use the domestic facilities of local residents.
