Steve Bell Raises the Hall Roof

Thanks to Brighton’s own Steve Bell we had a hugely successful event last night in the hall. The latest Writers in the Hall gig was a total sell-out. We all enjoyed Steve’s stories and there was much laughter as he took us through his witty satirical cartoons of politicians over three decades. From Thatcher’s mad eye, to John Major’s underpants, from condom headed Cameron to the crazed images of Blair and Osborne, Steve is loved by his readers while being the scourge of politicians of all hues.

Steve generously donated his time together with a framed print of one of his cartoons to raffle. In the interval he signed a pile of copies of his book “If……the Graphic Novel” and these quickly sold out.

Thanks to everyone who bought a ticket and to all the volunteers who made it happen.
