Pension Tina Orchestra
17 musicians reinterpret world music and celebrate the power of brass
Exeter Street Hall is delighted to welcome back Pension Tina Orchestra three years after they wowed a capacity audience with their infectious brand of wildly eclectic music. Music which ranges, in their own words, “from  Jazz, Tango, Balkan music, sorrowful songs from the Kurdish resistance, the swagger of fanfares from a circus tent, to the sounds of an African bazaar”

Since the previous visit the original 16 members of the Orchestra have been joined by Bettina Pohl on trombone, and the full line-up now is:-

Astrid Bock: Tenor saxophone
Peter Friese: Tenor saxophone
Rüdiger Grothues: Guitar
Axel Joerß: Trumpet, Flügelhorn
Dominik Kessler: Tenor saxophone
Ruth Lilienthal: Tenor saxophone
Karl von Martial: Trombone, Tuba, Sousaphone
Andrea Mertens: Trombone
Christoph Maria Münch: Drums
Adalbert Pohl: Trombone
Eva-Maria Reckstadt: Soprano saxophone
Uwe Sönnichsen: Bass
Uwe Stracke: Trumpet
Renate Theiß: Alto saxophone
Brigitte Wilmanns: Alto saxophone, Accordion, Vocals
Peter Wilmanns: Alto saxophone, Clarinet, Vocals

And here’s a short taster from their 2016 concert at the Hall  of what to expect
