Join Vashti on Friday afternoons for this new drop in beginners course.

This ‘yoga toolkit’ course is designed to introduce those new to yoga to the main postures, breath work and meditation/relaxation techniques. The aim is to finish the course with the confidence to join a mixed-ability yoga class, as well as to improve your posture, balance and wellbeing in general. Although the target audience is beginners, the course is also suitable for those returning to yoga after some time away from practising, or for anyone who would like to finesse their form.

Classes are based on Hatha yoga and include a mix of postures to build strength, and to improve flexibility, balance and mobility. Each class includes guided breathwork to enhance concentration and focus, and ends with a meditative relaxation to leave you feeling grounded and centred.

There is further info about it in the newsletter (see link below), but it would be great if those who are interested could register sooner rather than later, so that I can work out if I have enough to run it (and you can offer elsewhere if there’s insufficient interest).
Emailing me to register is enough; there is no need to pay until nearer the time (and they can pay weekly, or for the full 10 weeks). There is no obligation to attend all 10 either (although it’s structured as a course, it will also work as a beginners’ drop in).
Here is a link to my newsletter, which has a paragraph in it about the beginners’ course.

What to bring

  • Mat*
  • Bottle of water
  • Socks and a warm layer (eg a blanket) for the relaxation element
  • Any props you might find helpful (eg a block or strap – I do have one or two spare)

Please wear loose comfortable clothing that doesn’t restrict your movement.

Yoga is most effective on an empty stomach – please try to avoid having a large meal in the two hours prior to the class.

*If you don’t have a mat, let me know and I can bring a spare.
