We’re pleased to be supporting FareShare in reducing food poverty in Brighton.
5.8 million people in the UK live in ‘deep poverty’, making it hard for them to afford every day essentials, including food. In Brighton, a staggering 1 in 10 children live in food poverty.
FareShare Sussex is a charity project that redistributes good surplus food from a busy warehouse in Moulsecoomb, Brighton, to a range of different charities and community groups across East and West Sussex.
Although independently funded, they’re part of the national charity FareShare and are one of 20 FareShare Regional Centres across the UK.
We have a food drop in the Hall, just by the main door. You can leave an item of non-perishable food here, and one of our volunteers will deliver the food to FareShare.
Since April, you have contributed over 400 meals! So if you are dropping in, please bring a tin!
