The Annual General Meeting of Exeter Street Community Hall Limited (the community benefit society that is the legal owner of the Hall) will take place on Wednesday, 14th June, at the Hall, starting at 7:30pm.
Are you a shareholder? If so, please come along for the presentation of the annual reoprt and the Hall’s accounts. Vote on these and other items and elect Directors for the coming period.
This year the AGM will also include a special presentation by one of the Hall’s main hirers, the Migrant English Project. The MEP’s Maude Casey will discuss how the project welcomes and helps local migrants and what are the issues they face.
The bar will be open for refreshments before the meeting starts and after the formal business is finished we’ll move to a social gathering where shareholders can exchange their voting card for a free drink.
Documents relating to the AGM, including the agenda, Directors’ Report and the accounts can be viewed on and downloaded from the AGM’s web page.
If you can’t get to the meeting, please fill in a proxy voting form which can be downloaded from this page. You can either nominate another shareholder to vote for you or you can vote on the form itself and your vote will be added to the other votes by the Chair of the meeting. Proxy votes allow more people to have their say and also help to ensure that we have enough votes to make AGM decisions valid.
Shareholders – are you on our shareholder email list? It’s not the same as our Community Bulletin that lists events and other things going on at the Hall. If you are (or think you might be) a shareholder and you didn’t get a shareholder newsletter on Wednesday 24th May then you’re not on the list. Please send a message to [email protected] if you’d like us to check and (ideally) put you on the list so you’re kept informed about things that are relevant to shareholders.
Young or old, Royalist or Republican and everything in between – EVERYONE is welcome to join us for a community get-together at Exeter Street Hall.
As well as a delicious sweet and savoury afternoon tea (with GF and vegan options), there will be music, games and family activities. Pay-as-you-feel for food and soft drinks. Cash/card bar. Donations for the Hall or our food bank box welcomed and appreciated.
Please get in touch if you’d like to get involved: [email protected]
You can help in all sorts of ways either on the day or in advance: baking, making sandwiches or sausage rolls, pouring tea, giving lifts to people who need help, running an activity – whatever you fancy. And if you just want to turn up and enjoy some cake, that’s also encouraged
We’re keen to use the weekend to support the hall and people in our community, eg by raising funds for our new loo block and collecting for FareShare.
Above all, this is a chance for people to come together, eat cake and have fun over the coronation bank holiday without money being a barrier.
